AstroX team launched ME beta in December 2021. After a month’s beta testing, devices linked to ME have reached over 4,500 new devices (as of Jan 31, 2022) and the number of usernames surpassed 3,000.
Today, the AstroX team is excited to announce, with the IC Naming partnership, the launch of the “.icp” name claiming campaign — IC Naming team will provide “.icp” names with various rarities to ME users exclusively before the public launch!
ME is an end-user product based on self-sovereign identity protocol on Internet Computer with an easy-to-remember username similar to a Twitter username. Users can sign in ME with their biometric device (such as fingerprint or Face ID) as well as Ethereum wallet, without using a password. ME supports direct login to DApps on desktop or mobile browsers without installing any browser extensions. ME acts s a one-stop connector to aggregate your assets.
ICNaming is a Decentralized Domain Name Server based on Dfinity network, which accomplishes the basic functions of Domain Name Server by decentralized method, also an on-chain server corresponding to IP address and wallet address on Dfinity.

Rules
1.Total 2900 “.icp” names with various rarities (see below) are provided by IC Naming team before the public launch. During the campaign, ME users can claim the names for free on a first come first serve basis. The exact number of available names will be updated on the ME name claiming page;
2.ME users are required to link ME to their NNS wallet in order to claim. There are 5 categories of “.icp” names that can be claimed, based on a user’s NNS wallet:
Note1: Some IC Naming domain names are reserved and will be excluded from this campaign. Learn more about the list.

Special NFT Bonus for 8YearGang: In addition to “.icp” name, 8YearGang users are eligible to receive an “8YG NFT” from the AstroX team. The 8YG NFT is currently under design and development and will be airdropped when it goes live. The 8YG NFT is a special badge for those who believe in the future of Internet Computer. Preparation
- Sign in to your ME. For those who have not signed up, Sign up to ME — ME Guidelines.
- Connect ME to your NNS wallet:
* Users who are not connected to the NNS wallet need to link the Internet Identity first, please follow: Link II Anchors — ME Guidelines.
* Users who are linked to an Internet Identity but not yet connected to an NNS wallet, please follow: Connect NNS wallets — ME Guidelines.
Instructions to claim “.icp”
1.Go to the Events section by clicking the Event tap button, users should see the following campaign page.
2.After connecting NNS wallet, users will be able to select their NNS wallet to claim name. The user’s staking period and voting power are retrieved by the frontend application, to determine your level in this event, and only the user himself/herself can see it. We do not store any sensitive information to the backend canister. So there is no need to worry about privacy leakage. AstroX Team DOES NOT capture or record any other information.
3.When entering the name claim page, users will see the button(s) highlighted for the domain names that can be claimed.
4.Enter the preferred domain name on the claim page and wait for a while for confirmation.
5.If the following page appears, it means the name has been claimed successfully!
6.Go to the claim page again and click the “view” buttons to view the claimed domain names.
Claiming “Level F” names
For “Level F” names, users need to perform the following two additional steps.
- Share to Twitter
1.Copy the text and tweet it.
2.Copy the Twitter link you just posted and go back to the task page. Paste the link and verify it to complete the task.
- Join our Discord server
1.Copy your Principal ID and click the “Join” button.
2.Find “Me bot”. Type the command “/nns” and send your Principal ID to “Me bot” via private message.
3.Copy the message sent to you by “Me bot”, go back to the task page, paste it and click the “Verify” button. The task will be completed after verification.
That’s it!
Now you can set the reminder and get ready to claim your favorite “.icp” names!
